What is particularly interesting about this project from Korean engine builder Hyundai Heavy Industries is that the 12 engines will be equipped with 6G60ME-C9.2 engines and it will be the first time that HJ Lubtronic SIP has been delivered to ME newbuildings. It will also be the first time that the solution has been used with a G-type engine with ultra-long stroke length.

Rasmus Hans Jensen, CEO of Hans Jensen Lubricators, said: “It has been quite a struggle to ensure that Petredec Services get the cylinder lubrication solution they want for their newbuildings, but with their persistence, and a series of very constructive discussions with both MDT and Hyundai, we have succeeded in the end.”

He pointed out that the use of the HJ Lubtronic SIP cylinder lubrication equipment will open up a new option for shipowners when it comes to giving them a choice between alternative cylinder lubrication options and ensuring that they are well prepared for future challenges in shipping.
