Daehan goes for expansion

Daehan Shipbuilding in South Korea will start the construction of a 29.97 acres new shipbuilding facility in Haenam and the development will consist of two stages. The first stage will cost W 90 billion and will be completed by early 2007 enabling the shipbuilder to build annually 12 ships of 20,000 to 30,000DWT.

The second stage will commence in 2017 and involve developing 162 acres at a cost of W 200 billion. When completed, the yard will be able to build 15 ships of 70,000DWT per year.
