Daewoo delivers first ship for Sovcomflot
Daewoo Shipbuilding in South Korea delivered the first ice classed tanker for Sovcomflot on August 29. Sea trials of the 115,000DWT tanker Nevskiy Prospect were carried out from 21 to 26 July and is the first unit in a three-ship series being built at the shipyard for the Russian ship owner. The second vessel will be delivered in October while the final member of the trio is slated for a December delivery.
Ship particulars are 249.90 m long, 44.21 m wide and a depth of 14.80 m. Powered by a MAN B&W 5S70MC-C main diesel engine, the newbuilding has a service speed of 15.1 knots.
