Daewoo sources local valve supplier

Daewoo Shipbuilding will be sourcing its supplies of ultra low temperature valves for LNG carrier from compatriot company Seoheung Metal. Previously, the Korean shipbuilders obtained all its ultra low temperature valves from Europe including France and Belgium. About 500 valves are required for each LNG carrier and Daewoo will start using its local supplier from now on.

Daewoo plans to build nine LNG carriers in 2006, 12 in 2007 and 15 in 2008.
