Damen secures further order from Jan de Nul

Damen Shipyard in The Netherlands has confirmed that, following an order for six Damen Stan Tugs 1606 and four Damen Fast Crew Suppliers in 2006 and 2007, Jan De Nul has placed an order for another series of five Damen Stan Tugs 1606.

Construction of the vessels will take place at Albwardy Marine Engineering in Dubai, one of Damen?s joint venture shipyards in the Middle East, for delivery in 2009. Each vessel will have a bollard pull of in excess of 15 tonnes and will be equipped to assist large hopper dredgers.
