Damen to build new fast ferry for KT Marine

With delivery slated for mid-2024, this latest FFe 4212 is the seventh Fast Ferry Damen has built for the Korean market, and the fifth FFe 4212. It is being built at Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam.

KT Marine is a new client for Damen. “We are honoured to welcome KT Marine into the Damen family,” said regional sales director Asia-Pacific Thomas Röwekamp. “They reviewed all the options available before choosing our successful Fast Ferry 4212.”

The FFe 4212 is a 42m aluminium catamaran that can carry up to 423 passengers and has a maximum speed of 40 knots.

Four main engines deliver 5,760bkW of power to four waterjets, powering the ferry on its route between Yeosu harbour and Geomundo Island off the south coast of South Korea.
