Datum Electronics receives CCS plan approval
CCS is the only professional organisation in China providing classification services for the shipping, shipbuilding, offshore development and related manufacturing industries.
Mark Gladdis, marine product manager at Datum Electronics, said that the company was delighted to receive a plan approval from CCS. “We anticipate this approval will strengthen the relationship with our ever-expanding network of shipyards in China.”
Recently, dry bulk shipowner and operators, Oldendorff Carriers, designated Datum’s marine shaft power torque meter system as part of the Sustainable Shipping Initiative, aimed at creating a more environmentally sustainable maritime industry by 2040.
Thanks to distributors, HK Haichuan International, the system is already installed on a number of ships but the company believes the new plan approval will further its reputation in the region.
“The marine industry is constantly changing and there is great interest in improving efficiency and environmental performance, from every player in the industry,” said contracts & sales manager, Paul Lynch.
“We believe the approval from CCS is the first step towards building a stronger relationship with the Chinese maritime industry. 2018 has been a very successful year for our marine shaft power meter systems and we’re looking to building upon its successes in 2019 and beyond,” he added.
