DDD opens new dock

Dubai Dry Docks recently inaugurated the new extension to its ship repair and shipbuilding facilities. The new extension – the fifth dock – is to be added to the four existing dry docks and measures 130 metres long, 65 metres wide and a depth of five metres. The new drydock is claimed to be the world’s first facility to build giant ships of up to one million tonnes on dry land.
