De Hoop launches ‘Deep Helder’

Launched at De Hoop’s Foxhol yard, the 65m DP2 class vessel has been designed to meet strict environmental requirements, for low fuel consumption, clean/green passport/SPS2008 and high comfort class notation (Comfl).

“Deep Helder will be a cost effective vessel that we plan to operate on survey (Geophysics, Inspection & Geotechnical), IMR and light weight trenching, excavation and mattress installation projects for our customers in the oil and gas and renewable markets” said Rick Green, general manager, DeepOcean.

The four-point mooring vessel will be equipped with survey and ROV systems, an offshore crane and three moonpools, and has the accommodation for 50 personnel.

Ship management and marine crewing will be undertaken by Seamar Subsea and the vessel will sail under the Dutch flag.

It will be delivered in June and DeepOcean says it will be ready for operations by July this year.
