ClassNK and Hitachi in monitoring/diagnostics study

Importer
A new version of ClassNK's monitoring and diagnostics system is designed specificallly for Hitachi-built MAN B&W engines

The companies developed a system compatible with MAN B&W engines built by a Hitachi, conducting verification tests on a bulk carrier installed with such an engine.

The system combines and analyses big data from the ship’s data logger to produce trend graphs of component function and condition to prevent damage at an early stage. The system also displays maintenance information including work procedures and instructions automatically.

ClassNK CMAXS LC-A aims to reduce total maintenance cost by archiving actual engine conditions at appropriate maintenance intervals. CMAXS systems are already commercially installed on vessels belonging to some of the world’s leading shipping companies.
