Doosan HI enhances crankshaft
Last year Doosan Heavy Industries produced about 140 crankshafts, up 37% compared with 2002. This put the Korean casting & forging company in third place world-wide since it first started to manufacture crankshafts since 1990. The company also builds nuclear and hydro & thermal power plants and is deeply involved in the desalination plant, environmental and material handling sectors.
Doosan has set itself a target to produce 160 crankshafts this year and 180 in 2005. To meet the increasing orders, Doosan has invested $17 million in expanding its crankshaft production line to meet its projected targets.
