UK company Lincoln Diesels has acquired Dorman from previous owner Perkins, itself a subsidiary of Caterpillar. The range of Dorman engines now supported by Lincoln Diesels includes the DA, LD/LE, LS, PT, Q/QT, S/ST ranges. Lincoln Diesels will be able to supply, direct to customers, new components, reconditioned parts, short engine blocks and completely refurbished engines. The companywill also be handling all stock, spares supply, refurbishment, and service. Lincoln Diesels says that it has been providing technical support for Dorman engines for many years and so, from the engine owners’ point of view, it feels that it is an ideal buyer.

“Dorman engines are wonderfully reliable workhorses used extensively as generating sets and in marine applications worldwide” says Ian Smith, Lincoln Diesels’ MD. “This acquisition further establishes Lincoln Diesels as a major supplier and stockist of medium and high speed engine spares. We will be investing in the continued development of Dorman Diesels in order to ensure that these engines can remain in service for many years to come. We are lucky to have amongst our existing staff a number of former Dorman Diesels employees who have extensive experience of these engines so customers may feel wholly confident in the continued technical support for these engines”.
