DSME wins container ship deal

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has won a deal worth $602 million to build eight container ships. The deal with a European shipping company calls on Daewoo to deliver the vessels by January 2011.

The shipyard has clinched deals valued at $1.9 billion to build 15 ships so far this year and aims to secure $17.5 billion worth of orders this year.
