Volstad orders ROV/DSV duo

Skipsteknisk AS in Norway has been awarded the design contract by Aalesund-based Volstad Maritime for two advanced ROV/DSV offshore vessels of ST-256-L design. The building contract has been signed with Fosen Mekaniske Verksted AS with delivery slated in November 2007 and May 2008.

The 107 metre long and 22 metre wide vessels will be outfitted for sub-sea operations with ROV’s, but are also prepared for installations of diving systems. They will have accommodation for between 100 and 200 persons.
