Dubai service partnership

The agreement will see Mubarak moving its international headquarters to the site which it’s hoped will attract new national and foreign companies to set up there too. It will also establish a major new marine workshop and maintenance facility.

Juma Mubarak, CEO, Mubarak Marine Group, said “The opportunities within the city for networking, building and growing and sustaining a business are immense and we hope to capitalise on this.”

The new site, located within the marine district of DMC, will cover 106 hectares and comprise of pre-built ship repair and building plots, yacht manufacturing, retail units and offices.

A major attraction of the new agreement was that Mubarak will have very little to do in terms of setup – all of the facilities are already there.

DMC is trying to actively encourage the shipbuilding sector to set up there – it’s promoting a fast return on investment by putting place what it calls “good infrastructure, logistical support and hassle free set up” for companies.

The development itself covers 2.27 million square metres and is strategically located between Port Rashid and Drydocks World.
