EBDG to design DP2 well stimulation vessel

Importer

ONGC in India has contracted with Seattle-based Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) to provide consultancy for the design, construction and delivery of a 110m x 19m x 9.25m well stimulation vessel.

The function of the vessel is to provide well stimulation services in open ocean environments, primarily in the Arabian Sea offshore India. The overriding requirement is for a ship which can perform advanced offshore well stimulation operations when in DP mode while meeting international regulations, IACS, Indian Registry of Shipping and Directorate of General Shipping certification.

The vessel is to be equipped for high pressure pumping operations and storage facilities with various blends of chemicals including sand, flow back facility and burner boom, and will feature a helicopter deck and three cranes.

EBDG has completed the concept design and currently is preparing the preliminary design. Contract design completion is scheduled for late summer 2007.
