Eltorque launches compact valve actuator

The QT50, designed for butterfly and ball valves in the nominal diameter (DN) 25-80mm range, is said to be two-thirds the weight and a third of the volume of competing products. It features an IP68 protection rating and an option for hybrid cable connectivity. The actuator is maintenance free and designed for easy commissioning and installation.

The QT50 actuator also features CANbus, digital or analogue control interfaces, improved visuals, and a unique planetary gear.

“With compact outer dimensions, low weight and high durability, we believe both maritime and onshore customers will benefit greatly from the QT50,” said Eltorque CEO Arnstein Kjesbu.

Meanwhile, Eltorque has reported increased business in segments beyond offshore supply vessels, supplying its first fishing vessel applications and noting ‘exciting prospects’ in the cruise and passenger vessel markets.
