Equotip 2 launched by Proceq

Proceq has announced details of developments to its range of dynamic and static hardness measuring systems for metallic materials. The company says its Equotip 2 is now a complete hardness measuring system which can perform hardness measurements in grooves and at the bottom of holes and can also carry out internal measurements on cylindrical machine parts. New accessories have been launched for the system including special probe feet for curved surfaces to allow for measurements to be taken on thin-walled pipes. Also new is the Brinell hammer, which the company says is suitable for hardness measurement on rough or poorly prepared surfaces such as forged and cast parts after soft annealing. Proceq says the new instrument depends less on direction when measuring and requires less surface preparation of the samples and that useful results can be obtained with a maximum of three to five measurements. The new system is designed for integration into a manufacturing or testing line. Contact: Proceq SA Fax +41 1 389 98 12
