ETA-Ascon plans ship-building activities

According to a senior official at the Dubai-based business conglomerate, ETA-Ascon, the company plans to enter ship-building activities and is also considering undertaking the management of a government-owned shipyard in India and China.

“As we spend a lot on ship servicing and repairing, it makes perfect business sense to have our own shipyard. Besides, demand for ship repair and shipbuilding is going to be stronger in the coming years as global trade is increasing,” said Ameer Faisal, ETA’s senior general manager for shipping.
