Evac waste systems for Tallink Megastar

The scope of supply for Tallink Megastar consists of Evac vacuum collection systems including vacuum units and toilets.

It also includes wastewater treatment systems inclusive of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) and dry and wet waste treatment systems including an incinerator, food waste vacuum collection units, sludge handling system and a thermal steriliser unit.

Evac will also supply fresh water generation systems to include potable water treatment equipment and systems automation.

Megastar started operation on 29 January 2017 on the Tallinn-Helsinki route across the Gulf of Finland.

The ship is powered by LNG and complies with the new emission regulations for the ECA areas including the Baltic Sea.

This news comes on the back of Wärtsilä and Tallink Grupp signing a five-year maintenance agreement for the vessel.
