FAR contract for newbuilding

Farstad Supply AS, a wholly owned company of Farstad Shipping ASA, has signed a contract with Aker Langsten AS, Tomrefjord, in Norway, for delivery of an anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) in June 2007.

The vessel is of the new UT 732 CD design. Powered with 27.500 BHP, it will be one of the largest and most advanced in this vessel segment. The design is developed in close co-operation with Rolls-Royce Marine and with the benefit of the know-how in our maritime cluster in the region. This design is strongly focused on safe and environmentally friendly operation, with performance and functionality for the future. Experiences from our deepwater operations and a close dialog with our sea staff have been important in the development of this design. Rolls-Royce Marine will be a major supplier of equipment to the vessel.

The vessel will be the largest and most advanced in the Farstad-fleet and will consolidate Farstad’s position as a supplier of services to anchor handling operations in deep waters.
