Fast oil changes without spillage

Vision Energy says its Environmentally Safe Oil Change (ESOC) system for marine engines takes about ten minutes for a complete oil and filter change and uses a closed loop system which removes the threat of spillage. Air is used to purge used oil from the engine and filter, and replace it with clean oil. The company says its system removes residual oil from the passages and then prevents a dry-start by filling the oil filter and pre-lubricating the engine oil passages and bearing surfaces with fresh, filtered oil before start-up. The system also eliminates any handling of used engine oil so fitters avoid skin contact, says the company. The ESOC system uses onboard engine connections and a separate van or quay-mounted oil exchanger. The onboard connections consist of a filter inlet connection, fitted to the oil filter inlet port, and a drain connection, fitted to the oil sump drain opening. Each fitting has a quick-connect no-spill nipple that mates with the appropriate quick connect coupler of the ESOC oil exchanger. The onboard connections can be installed on existing engines as a retrofit, says the company.
