Ferguson picks up ferry job

The Ferguson shipyard in Inverclyde has been awarded a multi-million pound contract to build a new ferry for Caledonian MacBrayne. The $10.4 million order was won by the Port Glasgow yard despite competition from Poland, Germany, Norway and Italy. The announcement comes as the yard faces the threat of closure, and will secure around 300 jobs for two years.
