Fire resistant decoration

MicaMarine?s LSM21 has been approved by the MCA as a laminate-on-laminate decorative material. The company says it is fire resistant, vandal and graffiti resistant, easy to maintain and clean and will not need to be changed for up to ten years.

LSM21 is constructed from a woven and non-woven glass phenolic impregnated core surfaced with melamine. It is suitable as a surface for fire barriers, says MicaMarine, because on combustion the glass is left to retain structural integrity to panels and at 3/5mm thick can provide up to 60 minutes of fire resistance. The product is suitable as a decorative surface on steel, aluminium, or other non core boards, says the company.
