First H2-fuelled 2-stroke Engine Test

Mitsui E&S completed the successful first running of a large bore 2-stroke test engine on hydrogen at its Tamano Plant in Japan. The successful combustion was performed on one of the cylinders of a modified MAN B&W two-stroke 4S50ME-T type in October 2023. The test was successful at 100% load operation, with promising data regarding an absence of hydrogen leakage from the gas supply equipment.
