Flekkefjord gets Solstad order

Solstad Offshore ASA (SOFF) in Norway has signed a letter of intent with compatriot shipbuilder Flekkefjord Slipp og Maskinfabrikk AS for the building of a large construction vessel. The new vessel will have a length of 113m and width of 24m, will be purpose built for the Inspection Maintenance and Repair (IMR) sector.

The vessel design is developed in close cooperation between SOFF, Subsea 7 and Vik-Sandvik AS and, when delivered in early 2008, will enter into a six year charter arrangement with Subsea 7 plus 4 yearly options.
