Flying Dolphins for Korea?

George Patakos, ceo of Greek ferry company Hellas Flying Dolphins (formerly Minoan Flying Dolphins), has confirmed the company is close to ordering two high speed conventional ferries with an option for two more vessels. Talks are said to involve Scandinavian and Korean yards. The company has a fleet of 74 vessels comprising a mixture of old conventional ferries and a 26 vessel hydrofoil fleet, some of which date back to 1974. The company is thought to be interested in vessels with a 1,850 passenger capacity and the long-term plan is to build a total of 10 units. The company envisages spending around $500 million over the next six years.
