Germans order chemical carriers from China

Two German shipping companies, Aquarius Marine Consulting GmbH & Co. KG (AMC) and TB Marine-Hamburg GmbH have ordered a class of four chemical tankers from the Chinese shipbuilder Liaoning Hongguan Shipbuilding. With a carrying capacity of 19,500 cbm and 16,500 dwt, these IMO II-class carriers will be ice-classed and delivery is slated for June, August, October and December 2008. The contract includes options for four more units with deliveries scheduled in March, May, August and October 2009.
