Halon replacement

By December 2002 the decommissioning of halon fire suppression systems must start for all but essential use. So L&G Marine has launched a halon replacement system for engine compartments on workboats. Called LG 259 it is a fixed C02 fire fighting package which comes in 2kg, 5kg and 9kg sizes to deal with risk areas ranging from 1.53m to 83m.

It can be supplied as a basic pull handle, self-assembly package or with electric actuation or remote operation. Also offered is a fire detection and alarm kit which can also shut down the engine and any engine ventilation on discharge.
