Halul signs deal for quartet

Halul Offshore Service (HOSC), a leading Qatari offshore support services company, has signed a contract with a Singapore-based ship builder for the construction of four safety standby vessels at a cost of about $16m. The newbuildings shall be classed by ABS and built by Pacific Ocean Engineering Pvt Ltd, Singapore, at their Shipyard in Wuxi, China. The building time is approximately 16 months.

The vessels have been designed to provide safety cover to offshore installations for protection and rescue operations and are equipped with fire fighting pumps, oil pollution equipment and life saving equipment besides environment monitoring systems for H2S and flammable gases. Each vessel will have a Fast Rescue Craft onboard to rescue survivors.

Halul Offshore Services Company was formed in October 2000, jointly by Qatar Navigation and Qatar Shipping Company to provide Marine Support services to the Offshore Industry. The company is currently operating a diversified fleet of 40 modern offshore support vessels and has experience in all aspects of the offshore industry including ROV/diving support vessels, safety standby vessels, supply vessels, anchor handling tug supply vessels and construction vessels.
