Hamworthy KSE delivers first C2G pumps to Japanese market
Hamworthy KSE has won a contract to supply shipsets of 19 engine room pumps to two Leif Hoegh 145,000m3 LNG carriers under construction at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan. This is Hamworhty?s first order for engine room pumps for the Japanese market for commercial vessels and each shipset of pumps will include seven of the company?s new C2G models.
The new LNG carriers are scheduled for delivery at the end of next year and in spring 2006, and Hamworthy KSE plans to deliver the first shipset of pumps in July and the second in October this year. Leif Hoegh emphasised the ships? high specification to meet strict safety and environmental requirements. Other recent LNG carriers featuring Hamworthy KSE engine room pumps include newbuildings for Empresa Naviera Elcano SA at IZAR?s Sestao yard, Gaz de France at Chantiers de l?Atlantique and Exmar BV at Samsung.
