H&W completes FPSO refurbishment

The 272m x 46m SeaRose FPSO arrived at H&W’s Repair Dry Dock on 6 June, for a programme of work including maintenance on the propulsion system, turret and painting of the hull as well as regulatory inspections and upgrades to accommodate present and future operating capacity.

Harland and Wolff project manager James Lappin said: “We are delighted that SeaRose left for offshore Newfoundland ahead of schedule. I’d like to thank Husky for their open and professional approach over the last six months. I’d also like to thank over 1,000 personnel, whether they be H&W, Husky or subcontractors, who worked on SeaRose for their dedication to the project and commitment to the safety of all involved. We have proven that we are not only capable of large offshore design and build projects, but that we’re also a competent and competitive alternative for the docking and upgrade of offshore oil and gas units.”
