Havila orders new construction ship
The Norwegian offshore company Havila Shipping ASA has entered into a contract with Havyard Leirvik AS for the building of a large subsea construction vessel based on a new developed design, Havyard 860. The value of the contract will be approximately $269 million including owner delivery of offshore cranes and delivery is planned in spring 2011.
The overall length will be 160 metres, breath will be 28 metres and will have a cargo deck of 2,400 m2. The vessel will have accommodation for 140 persons and will have a moonpool, two offshore cranes and ROV-hangar.
Havila Shipping operates 12 vessels, five platform supply vessels, four anchor handling tug supply vessels, one subsea vessel and two rescue vessels with a further 10 vessels under construction for delivery before the end of 2010.
