Havila wins contract with Havyard design

In order to deliver this service, Havila Shipping will build a Havyard 833 L platform supply vessel at Havyard Ship Technology`sshipyard in Leirvik, Norway. The newbuild contract is worth $65.2 million and delivery is scheduled for December 2012.

The 5,000dwt Havyard 833 L is a large PSV design with a focus on operational costs and economy, large, flexible capacities for freight of various types of cargo, good comfort for the crew and environmentally friendly design. This version of the 95m long newbuilding is, in addition, specially designed for the demands that Statoil put forward for this particular contract.

In addition to designing and building the vessel, companies within Havyard Group will deliver equipment and services for the ship including electric installations, bridge systems, communications, information and entertainment systems and the diesel electric propulsion system.
