Havyard Design acquires Apply Steelcad

Apply Steelcad is a company with 27 employees in Norway and share holders of engineering companies in Poland and Croatia. Apply Steelcad, formerly Steelcad, is a company that has been delivering engineering services to ship design companies and shipyards world-wide for many years. The company has also a long history in delivering these services to Havyard’s own shipyards and to Havyard Design when delivering design packages to other shipyards world-wide.

The high quality of the work performed by Apply Steelcad has been an important factor in the decision of acquiring the company which will change name to Havyard Steelcad AS and become a part of the Ship Design & Engineering division within Havyard Group.

The intention with this acquisition is to pursue Havyard Groups strategy to be a totally integrated supplier of shipbuilding technology and to take control of important and critical phases within ship design and shipbuilding of advanced vessels. This acquisition will strengthen Havyard’s ability to deliver detail engineering for production of Havyard design vessels on own and external shipyards world-wide.

Havyard Steelcad will increase the know-how within Havyard Designregarding 3D detail engineering based on 3D modelling. The company will be located in Stavanger.
