HHI successfully applied furan resin for propeller casting

The Engine & Machinery Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries has successfully applied furan resin process to large propeller casting.

Furan resin, a modern foundry technology used as a binding agent for casting, is produced from condensation polymerization of furfural alcohol, urea and formaldehyde.

The division expects the application of furan resin will increase the production capacity of its propeller shop and reduce energy and labor cost.
