Horn protects four strokes

Specialist equipment manufacturer Horn has added two four-stroke engine protection products to its portfolio. The MEV278 is a compact safety system gives overspeed protection and monitors all the functions required by the classification societies.

Up to 225 events are recorded in the unit`s memory and setting/resetting of warning and shutdown limits can be done either by using a laptop computer or manually directly onto the unit. Oil pressure and engine speed are displayed on the unit and can be relayed using standard 20mA outputs.

The MEV 281 Engine Protection System directly measures the fuel rack position, engine speed, crankcase pressure and oil mist concentration.
