HVS repairs crane barge

Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard (HVS) has repaired the 9,322 dwt crane barge Hoang Sa for Vietnamese-Russian joint-venture company Vietsovpetro.

Work included cargo crane overhaul, approximately 400t of steel renewals, hull blasting and coating and the overhaul of electric motors. Repairs were contracted to take 75 days, including 20 days in drydock.

This was HVS?s first contract from this important local operator and more work is expected. HVS repaired more than 30 vessels in 1999 having opened its gates on March 22.
