Hybrid MeOH container feeder contract for BMA Technology

The scope of supply includes electric drives, motors, battery system, low-voltage switchboards as well as an alarm monitoring and control system.

The vessels are expected to enter service by early 2025, when they will operate between Moerdijk in the Netherlands and Immingham, UK. The vessels feature a significantly larger cargo capacity than A2B-online’s existing vessels, without increasing the overall length of the vessels significantly.

The vessels will have a 3.2 MW multi-fuel methanol propulsion system, and will be equipped with a 1.5 MWh capacity energy storage system, enabling the vessels to operate emission-free during harbour and inland water operations.

As a result, the vessels are expected to achieve emission reductions of up to 95%, setting a new industry standard for eco-conscious shipping.
