Hygood`s FM-200 gets US approval

A Certificate of Inspection and Tests has been issued by the US MCA for Hygood`s FM-200 fixed gaseous fire suppression system for the total flooding protection of machinery spaces and cargo pump rooms. The system is now certified as complying with the Merchant Shipping Regulations for both small and large ships, the International Code of Safety for High Speed Craft, and the relevant sections of the SOLAS Convention, says Hygood.

The certification of the zero ozone depleting system followed tests carried out by the United States Coast Guard on its test ship State of Main.
