Hyproc plans to order tankers

Hyproc Shipping Co., Algeria’s state- owned shipping company, plans to buy enough tankers to carry half the nation’s crude-oil production, Oil Minister Chakib Khelil said. Algeria, Africa’s fourth-largest oil producer, owns one VLCC and Hyproc chairman Mostefa Mohammedi last year said the company’s 25 year old fleet of gas tankers needs replacing. Hyproc owns eight LNG carriers, four LPG tankers and two coastal tankers to carry bitumen.
