Hyundai Heavy Industries has received a $400 million order to build an offshore oil rig from a French oil company. Under the deal, Hyundai will construct a floating production unit for Total SA and install it off the coast of Congo in West Africa by February 2008. The facility will pump out 90,000 barrels of crude oil and 1.7 million cubic metres of gas a day and the contract will also help Hyundai win orders for more oil facilities off the coast of West Africa.
