Hyundai Shipbuilding group wins order for five box ships

Hanjin Shipping placed on order for five 6,500 TEU container vessels with Hyundai Heavy Industries. The 304 metre long 79,500 DWT newbuildings will be powered by a 68,332 kW diesel engine giving a service speed 26.5 knots. The vessels will be delivered to Hanjin from September 2006 to May 2007 and will replace the current five 5,600TEU vessels deployed on one of routes connecting China and Europe.
