Interior refurbishment for cruise ship

Trimline undertook the month-long project while the 1,600 passenger capacity vessel was alongside at the Navantia yard in Cadiz, carrying out the latest in a series of projects that have seen the UK outfitter improve passenger and crew accommodation in recent seasons.

The latest programme of upgrades is expected to considerably improve passenger areas. Some 6,000m² of carpet was supplied and fitted by Trimline personnel, while nearly 600 pieces of new furniture have been introduced in outside passenger areas and the on-board coffee shop. Public rooms have benefited from new curtains and blinds, while Trimline has also developed the designs implemented in last year’s refit to supply carpets and fabric sets for bed throws, valances, cushions and curtains for further improvements to passenger cabins. The ship’s reception and passenger entrance foyer are further areas which have been improved through redecoration. In particular, new deck covering, wall panelling and carpets have been fitted in the foyer, combined with redecorating the alleyways.

Trimline sales and marketing director Mike Oliver explained: “This was the latest in a series of extensive make-overs that we have carried out on the Island Escape and she is in prime condition for the 2012 season. The ship has a dedicated following and we have carefully sought to upgrade the interior while ensuring that she retains her most popular features and characteristics.”
