International work goes to Gemak
Turkey`s Gemak is modifying Geco-Prakla`s seismic ship
Geco Gamma
to allow it to navigate rivers en route to its next charter in the Caspian Sea. Sponsons are being added to reduce draft, and the wheelhouse is being cut and removed above a certain level so the vessel can pass under bridges. The vessel will be towed to Baku and returned to its original form at a local shipyard.
In its first contract on US controlled tonnage, Gemak docked OSG Ship Management`s 39,673 dwt tanker Delphina in mid-June.
