Internet via satellite

Stratos Mobile Networks has introduced Stratos Mail, a messaging service that allows Inmarsat-A/-B Telex or -C equipped vessels to communicate directly via satellite with Intemet e-mail subscribers. On the vessel, Stratos Mail messages are created and received on standard Telex or -C equipment. On shore, registered customers can use their Internet e-mail software or service to communicate with -A/-B Telex or -C users anywhere in the world, and no additional software or hardware is required, says the company.
