Iran hopes to launch first IRISL ship next year

Iran hopes the first ship to be built for the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) at a local shipyard can be launched next year. Despite slow progress in the field of shipbuilding, Iran plans to develop its industry and is currently building several large ships for a number of local shipping companies. In addition to the five 30,000dwt boxships for IRISL, the country?s shipyards are constructing product tankers for the National Iranian Tanker Company.
