Iran seeking LNG vessel technology

Iran has formed an international consortium to attain technology for constructing LNG carriers. Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOECC) is currently holding talks with reputable international companies to acquire the technology to construct LNG-carrier vessels according to IOECC?s managing director Masoud Soltanpour.

Soltanpour stressed that because domestic shipping companies carry more than 50% of Iran’s LNG, Iran has no option other than to gain access to such technology.

He pointed out that the consortium will be comprised of several foreign and domestic shipping companies.
