Island Offshore orders another UT PSV
Island has selected the UT 776 CD design, making this new order a follow-up to a contract earlier in 2013 for another ship of the same type. Upon handover, which is scheduled for February 2015, the new vessel will be the 11th of this type in the Island Offshore fleet, and the owner’s 26th UT design ship.
The Rolls-Royce package will include, in addition to the vessel design, engines, deck machinery, azimuth thrusters, tunnel thrusters and control systems. The UT 776 CD features tanks for all types of liquid cargo, 1,000m² cargo deck and accommodation for over 40 personnel in single cabins.
Rolls-Royce senior vice president Jørn Heltne said: “This order confirms the strong cooperation between our two companies ever since the founding of Island Offshore in 2004. Island Offshore is an ambitious owner and together we have broken technological barriers.”
