Japanese built ships are Solasafe

Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation completed the LPG carrier Hisui for Asuka Marine Corporation of Japan. It is Kawasaki’s 45^th LPG carrier and the 6^th of the same class. Seven Solasafe roller screens in bronze film were supplied.

Another vessel, the 154,914m3 LNG carrier Gdf Suez Point Fortin, was delivered from the Koyo Dockyard of Imabari Shipbuilding to owner Los Halillos Shipping Co. SA. This one has been supplied with 11 Solasafe roller screens in bronze shade film to protect personnel in the wheelhouse against heat, glare and uv light from the sun.

John Lightfoot, Solar Solve Marine’s chairman commented, “Whilst Japan is a significant builder of ships; it continues to be a very difficult market for British marine equipment manufacturers to sell into.
